On Blockchain-Enhanced Secure Data Storage and Sharing in Vehicular Edge Computing Networks

The conventional architecture of vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) with a centralized approach has difficulty overcoming the increasing complexity intelligent transportation system (ITS) applications as well challenges in providing large amounts data storage, trust management, and information security. Therefore, edge computing (VECNets) have emerged to provide massive storage resources powerful on network edges. However, server VECNets is insufficient due potential leakage security risks it can still allow single point failure (SPoF). We propose consortium blockchain smart contracts ensure trustworthy environment for secure sharing address these challenges. Practical byzantine fault tolerance (PBFT) utilized because suitable audit publicly, store sharing, records whole consensus process. It defend against failures or without symptoms reach an agreement among participants. Furthermore, we use incentive mechanism motivate vehicle contribute honestly share their data. simulation results satisfy proposed model’s design goals by networks’ performance general.
